Hello, imaginary internet people!
Shorter newsletter this time, as I’m trying to get them out more often, without having to fit into some arbitrary, self-imposed newsletter structure, when I could just be sending stuff out and telling you about my news when it happens…
It’s my birthday month, which means everyone has to be nice to me for a whole month. I don’t make the rules. Except that one.
Biggest news at the moment is Cat’s short film that she wrote and directed, and is crowdfunding now - it’s called Rubbers, and is about a woman who loves stationery a little bit too much. I think we’ve all been there. It stars the amazing Rosie Holt, who turns in a fantastic performance. We’ve already shot the thing, this is just funding for completion to help polish it up nicely - music, grade, sound, etc. The lovely Ben Foster is back to do the score, and there are some fun perks to be had if you want to get involved. My other news is the River Song box set which is out this VERY month! Now, as it’s Big Finish, we don’t know exactly WHEN it is out, as they are mysterious folk. But it will definitely be sometime. This month. I have no idea. You can pre-order here, see the details, and listen to a fun trailer: https://www.bigfinish.com/releases/v/the-death-and-life-of-river-song-series-02-ace-and-tegan-3081
There are some other Big Things happening, in the pipeline, but they are still at early stages and I can’t even hint at them yet. Which is annoying, as I’m really excited about them. But I also don’t want to jinx them. I’m not superstitious, don’t believe in ghosts or magic, but mentioning a project out loud before it’s completed WILL bring about a terrible, terrible curse.
And I think that’s it for now. Short and sweet. Trying to make these things a bit more useful for actual news, in a timely fashion. Imagine such a thing!
I will be back in your inboxes sooner rather than later. Sorry for the long gap this time, it may happen again, but I will try to avoid that.
James
